The Bay City Public Library and its
branches issue a patron’s first library card free of
charge. Upon loss of the card, a replacement fee is
charged.
An application for a library card is
on a form approved by the Library Board. Adults are
required to present a valid driver’s license or
other valid form of picture ID. Children must be
able to write or print their name. New residents
are also required to present proof of their local
address (utility bill, phone bill etc.). A post
office box may be given only with a valid street
address. Applicants under the age of 16 years must
have a parent or legal guardian give their written
consent on the application and present an ID before
a card may be issued. Only the person to whom the
card is issued may use that card. Library
cardholders agree to inform the library of any
changes of address or phone number.
